My healing started first by owning a business. I learned how to heal myself and find myself in healing through being a business owner and stylist to the community. Hair has helped me in so many ways as a person, as a mother, as someone who would be inspiring other women through my experience in trial and error. For me, an achievement was putting my healing on display by being more active in my marketing with my own podcast, Salon Talk , how I presented myself authentically and told my story of trial and error. I felt like being in an abusive relationship contributed a lot to me not succeeding, and it was hard to get out of it. People judged me, looked at me differently and I was let alone a lot of times. Through the encouragement of 2 main people in my life, I was able to push forward towards my dream. They were my biggest fans and never stopped telling me I was great, and I really needed that because it felt like everyone else was telling me I wasn't great, and I felt like I was sleeping with the enemy. That's how my healing process started. I found a very supportive friend who helped me to heal and a partner who was very supportive, which prompted me to elevate myself through Salon Talk and jumpstart my own healing, where I moved into a bigger location. The dream was bigger, my vision was bigger and I thought I could conquer it all-- but I wasn't truly ready. Now, I am partnering with FLP because I feel that I am at a point where I am coming from a place in healing where I thought I knew it all and am now humbled to continue giving back while I rebuild my business. The pieces that came together for me were hair and healing, which are very importnat to me in the current stage in my life. I am currently always looking for ways to combine the two. I have always used hair to hide behind, but now I have the opportunity to express what is inside me through hair, which inspired me to want to inspire women to do better, especially coming from the demographics I come from and help them work on believing in themselves, just as I am currently doing so.
