Inspiring Purpose, Peace and ProsperityWritten by: Briana Wooten, Communications and PR Intern at First Ladies of Poverty Foundation First Ladies of Poverty Foundation – often abbreviated to FLP – is preparing to host a monthly session full of power and inspiration. Set to kick off in February for its preliminary meeting, the virtual retreat will host a variety of inspirational speakers, provide access to helpful resources for attendees, and dedicate a moment to mindfulness. Shatoyia Jones, Founder and CEO of First Ladies of Poverty Foundation will host the very first meeting, promising an engaging and enlightening experience for attendees. The itinerary includes, but is not limited to:
The retreat is an opportunity for any and all who wish to attend to meet and connect with like minded individuals who share similar entrepreneurship and investing career goals and life aspirations. In addition to being a source of encouragement and entrepreneurial inspiration, each monthly meeting serves as a chance for attendees to unwind in a safe space, and refocus for the month ahead. ![]() The long term vision for the foundation is to greatly reduce generational financial hardship among historically disadvantaged communities and creeds within the United States, and promote healthy relationships with not only money, but also healthy relationships to each individual self and their communities. Through various other mentorship and training programs, virtual courses, summits and events, First Ladies of Poverty Foundation offers a diverse community and a multitude of entrepreneurship and investing training programs to strengthen and empower communities nationwide. “So far, we have expanded our program in the USA into Georgia, Louisiana and Massachusetts with a global virtual community,” says Jones of the growing community. “ I see to it that those who go through our programs have the strategy, tools, community and mentoring support to build a successful purpose-driven online business and [are] making a positive impact in the lives of others within their communities.” Many previous recipients of Jones’ impartation of knowledge have had overwhelmingly positive things to say about her and the programs. “I am thankful I discovered FLP, and I got the chance to meet such a thoughtful and impactful leader,” Maria L. says of Shatoyia. “She seems to see what you are not able to see, the good in you, your potential. I don’t think I have ever had a talk with her [where] I don’t feel better after. The most important thing that she has taught [me] is to believe in myself.” February 27th at 9:15pm EST, join the rest of the nationwide First Ladies of Poverty Foundation community for an evening filled with purpose, peace, and prosperity Admission to the virtual live event is totally free, and tickets can be reserved via Eventbrite.
