Iniko and Adeben are friends who are tired of doing all of the "right" things and seeing little to no rewards. Tired of dedicating time, talent and energy to college, jobs and various relationships only to be left with pennies (if that) in the bank, not being able to provide a quality life for their loved ones and no sense of enthusiasm, purpose or fulfillment in life. Tired of being sick and tired.
We are looking for a size that fits our situation.
Iniko and Adeben decide enough is enough and reaches out to get a free consultation at First Ladies of Poverty Foundation (FLP Foundation). They made it clear they were tired of struggling and just wanted custom 1:1 guidance that will guarantee a higher quality of life and some financial stability. After some conversation via e-mail with a representative from the organization, Iniko and Adeben decide to move forward with scheduling a free 15-minute discovery call with FLP Foundation life strategist and strategic planning mentor, Fabumi.
Iniko says she did all she was supposed to do; she did well enough in school, sought higher education, got a decent job after some years, and still, she is living paycheck-to-paycheck and feeling under-paid and under-valued despite her qualifications and loyalty to her job. She also finds herself having to "codeswitch" or talk a certain way and even wear certain hairstyles around her colleagues just so she is not instantly pegged as inferior despite her ethnic background being obvious.
Iniko: " We are here because we have tried to do things the "right" way. We have done everything we have been told to do, and all we have to show for it is a degree and over 10 years of experience that has afforded us thousands of dollars in student debt, $50 in the bank account and penny raises for a paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle."
Adeben agrees wholeheartedly and exclaims that he, too, feels under-worked, under-valued and just not really feeling life, and it takes a toll in his personal relationships.
Adeben: "We are tired of doing it our way--the way we have been taught...we need a BETTER way, a proven way and a faster way (because bills don't stop) to escaping this paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle, despite the unique obstacles that exist for people of color. These other success programs poses a one-size fits all; we have tried a few of them. We are looking for a size that fits our situation."

Iniko and Adeben both agree that they did everything they were told they were supposed to do, but still, they understand that the unique obstacles that they face as people of color are not taken into account in any "success" blueprint they were taught growing up, and no matter how hard they work, no matter how qualified (or overly) that they may be for a position, no matter how long they have been at a company--no matter what they do they cannot seem to escape the burnt out, discouraging paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle. They seek the confidence, skill-sets and education necessary to bypass the unique obstacles they face as people of color and attain a higher quality of life.
Does this sound familiar?
I am Shatoyia Jones, Founder and CEO of First Ladies of Poverty Foundation, and FLP personal and professional development mentor.
Iniko and Adeben could be you. They could be your loved ones...they were me [Read My Story]. And the reason I share these stories is to introduce you to real people with real problems who came to the First Ladies of Poverty Foundation to seek solutions for real results [ a higher quality of life, financial stability and renewed enthusiasm for life] in spite of the unique circumstances that people of color face on their journey to success.
How does Iniko and Adeben's story ends?
Happily to say the least, and Iniko and Adeben are still a part of our community, still learning and growing with us. After one of our strategic representatives listened to Iniko's and Adeben's stories and created a strategic blueprint to a higher quality of life for both of them that includes free and non-free resources/services, Iniko and Adeben decided to take advantage of the free resources and FLP career opportunities in addition to investing in a membership plan for on-going community support and access to 1:1 mentors.
They also decided to invest a self-development package that includes a few hours of 1:1 personal development mentor-ship with Dakarai, a FLP personal and professional development mentor and Abiola, a FLP financial planning mentor to create a new "money story" for their lives and start their path to building financial stability and wealth. And I don't need to tell you the rest because the testimonials are published for the public to see --> [Read Testimonials]
